WORLD RABBIT SCIENCE ASSOCIATION (WRSA)

The WRSA is an international association created in Paris in 1976. It federates local associations (national or for a group of nations) named branches. It's main objectives are :

  • to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among persons in all parts of the World who are contributing to the advancement of various branches of the rabbit industry.
  • to promote the extension of knowledge by encouragement of teaching, scientific research, practical experimentation, the collection and publication of statistics and documents in relation with rabbit production.
  • to promote World Rabbit Congresses alone or in cooperation with other international bodies.
  • to cooperate with FAO and any other World Bodies interested in rabbit meat, pelt or fur production.

Plenary sessions of the WRSA Council (1 to 3 representatives per branch) are held every 4 years.

The present 2 main activities of the WRSA are :

  • the organisation of a World Rabbit Congress every 4 years.
  • to promote the "World Rabbit Science" journal as the official journal of the association (publication of news)

In addition, the branches have their own activities, such as scientific meetings, and the organisation or publication of a technical journal on rabbit production.
